Flooring
Floors are measured and priced by the square foot, with the subfloor checked first so the new floor is not laid over a problem.
Damaged laminate, worn carpet and tired vinyl are common replacements, especially in rental units and basements.
We measure the area, check what is underneath, and price the job by the square foot with removal, prep and trim listed separately.
What is included
- Removal and disposal of the old floor
- Subfloor inspection and repair
- Laminate and other floating floors
- Transitions, thresholds and base trim
- Basement floors suited to below-grade spaces
In Chicago-area homes
Older Chicago homes often have original hardwood under later layers of flooring. We check before removal so you can decide whether to keep it.
How it is priced
After a walk-through, you get a written scope with each part of the job priced on its own line. Anything new that turns up is written up as a change order for your approval before it is added, and the invoice follows the scope line by line. How we work
