The City of Chicago uses the Chicago Building Code and has its own permit programs. Each suburb adopts and enforces its own codes, with its own forms, inspections and standards for bedrooms. This table links to the official permit office for each municipality on our area pages. Always confirm requirements with the office before the scope is final.
